Supplier Jim Bosek dumped 400 pounds of walleye fingerlings into Big Swan last week. Stocking took place at the public landing on the south end and at the campground on the north end. This year’s fingerlings were mostly in the 6- to 8-inch range, smaller than last year but in larger numbers. Continued stocking of varying sizes will increase survival chances and developmental diversity in the short and long term. The DNR is expected to continue stocking fry and fingerlings at a lower rate.
